USC Pharmacy held a Healthy Heart Awareness Fair on Friday, Feb. 1 at USC’s McCarthy Quad to kick off American Heart Month. The event was part of a larger university initiative, Health and Wellness Week, which encouraged the Trojan community to explore a variety of campus resources and activities that support healthy living.

USC School of Pharmacy students provided free health screenings to approximately 180 participants at two stations — body fat analysis and blood pressure screening — both of which are good indicators of heart health, said USC community pharmacy resident Tam Phan.

“These health fairs are great opportunities for our students to take what they learn in classrooms and apply them in real life,” Phan said.
